The EPI-USE AppHaus Pretoria has just turned two, and we’re proud that, over the past two years, our AppHaus continues to be a hub for innovation, design thinking, and collaboration. It’s been a space to bring together diverse perspectives to solve complex business challenges on the African continent and beyond. To mark the occasion, colleagues at EPI-USE have contributed to painting a massive conjoined canvas. This collaborative artwork, now hanging on the wall of the EPI-USE AppHaus Pretoria, shares the concept that, much like in our projects, every brushstroke matters, every perspective counts, and together, we can create something extraordinary.

Two years ago, the EPI-USE AppHaus Pretoria, part of the SAP Global AppHaus Network, was launched with a vision to embed user-centricity into every aspect of innovation and development. Since then, it has become a space where ideas are born, nurtured, and transformed into everyday solutions with real impact.
Over the past two years, our AppHaus has evolved into more than just a space - it has become a mindset. By combining human-centered design with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), we’re working on projects that accelerate digital transformation whilst having a bottom-line impact. This is just the beginning - here’s to the next two years!.

At the core of the AppHaus approach is Design Thinking, a methodology that blends empathy, ideation, and experimentation to drive innovation. By focusing on the needs of users first, the objective is to develop solutions that are not just functional but transformative.
Using this methodology in combination with the capabilities of SAP BTP, developers at the EPI-USE AppHaus Pretoria are working on multiple global projects that solve real business challenges, whilst taking the end user into consideration. To name but a few, the EPI-USE AppHaus Pretoria has been the birthplace of two key projects, Sign4it and XClaim:
Sign4it is a real-time, proof-of-delivery application that's seamlessly integrated with SAP S/4HANA Cloud,developed in partnership with G3G.
From the moment your driver hits the road, Sign4it ensures every delivery is tracked with precision:
With Sign4it, customers formally accept deliveries, ensuring compliance and minimising payment delays.
Streamlining your delivery process, improving customer satisfaction, and driving business growth. Learn more here.
XClaim is an application designed to streamline the reimbursement claims process. This application offers an efficient, user-friendly, and portable solution, accessible via both desktop and mobile devices.
Built on SAP BTP, XClaim seamlessly integrates with SAP SuccessFactors to simplify claim submissions. A key feature currently in development leverages SAP Business AI’s Document Information Extraction capabilities. With this feature, users can easily upload a receipt or invoice, and the system will automatically populate the necessary fields in the reimbursement form for submission, making the process even quicker.
