EPI-USE Labs is a global company with hubs throughout Europe, the United Kingdom, the Americas, Australia, the Philippines, South Africa, the Middle East and Turkey.
The transformation of Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises’ SAP system operation is a revealing one and we are pleased to finally bring you the full story. At the very heart of the renewal are the products and services of EPI-USE Labs which, as powerful add-ons, are able to speed up and significantly boost SAP system performance.
Babcock & Wilcox are a large and powerful player in the energy and environmental technology fields. Added to their technology are complementary services and expertise to industrial markets across the globe.
Despite pressure from parallel projects, flexibility on the part of EPI-USE Labs coupled with close collaboration between the teams and their members enabled the project to be completed on time and within budget.
The plan was a restructuring around the company’s SAP ECC system. A detailed two-week blueprinting round-table discussion began the process followed by the successful extraction of relevant data to create a new SAP landscape. Two validation cycles followed, technical and functional, to ensure a smooth cutover process. The cutover took three days, the extract just under five hours (89.6 GB out of 2 TB) and the import of 130.45 million records took just one hour and twenty one minutes, with no downtime.
